New Found Fear

As seen in the title, I have a new found fear. Most likely even bigger than my used-to-be biggest fear of thunderstorms. I decided I'd try to write it, kind of like a book style, like a story...a true story.
It was a beautiful and sunny day. Most cute and fluffy stories start out like this, but this is not any type of cute and fluffy story. This is a story based on pure fact and fear. I rephrase this first statement, the day was sunny and beautiful but frightful events were destined to occur. A family of five, six including their grandmother, decided to head out to the sandy beach in the bright sun, on their week long vacation near the ocean. There was a slight wind, not light enough to be called a breeze and not powerful enough to be actually called a wind, but umbrellas were turning and towels were blowing. The waves were high and crashing. The water salty and clear. The sand...well...grainy. Angela, the main character of our story (which happens to be myself) had never used a boogie board before, but longed to learn. Her older brother, tall and handsome, had used one before and willingly agreed to teach Angela. He demonstrated kindly how to move into the water and the correct way to hold the board. Angela thought she understood and followed Rick, which is her brother's name, into the breaking line of the waves. Rick slowly guided her across the breaking line and told her to use her board to get over the wave bumps and wait for a good one. A large wave was sailing (I don't generally think this word fits, but I'm tired and it's getting late and I don't want to think of another one) towards them. Rick shouted in glee, "This is a great one! Three! Two! One! Boogie!" Angela was slightly hesitant and didn't want to start quite so soon. Before she could think on this, the wave crashed over her, flipping her into the churning waters. As she turned and tumbled, her head hit the floor of the ocean. The sand and mud, as wet dirt is called. She was inhaling water quickly. As the water calmed down she lifted her head above the surface to gulp down some air, only to find that her boogie board string was tightly entangled around her neck. (For those of you who haven't seen a boogie board, there is a string attached to the front of it which is strapped to your wrist, so you don't lose your boogie board in the event of dropping it into the water.) Salt lined the inside of her throat from all the ocean water she had inhaled. The boogie board flapped towards the shore, or in better words: tried to. The waves were pulling it with each new one breaking. As the boogie board was pulling in one direction, Angela panicked with the rope entangled around her neck and waved her arms. Now, if you already forgot, the rope connected to the boogie board is wrapped around her neck, which is still connected to her arm. The flailing of her arms pulled the rope tighter, as did the board pulling the other direction. Dad, the average superhero (not really, just trying to describe him. If I were really to describe him...I'd say, dad....the...dad...) rushed to her rescue and untangled the rope allowing her to breath....and then get knocked down again by another wave. Angela then stated, "I hate waves. I'm never boogie boarding again."
So, there is my story. I am now deathly afraid of waves and I will admit that night I had the same nightmare over and over that a wave had knocked me over and I had died...(drowned) I decided I wasn't going to sleep the rest of that night. It definitely is a story worth telling though. Vacation was a lot of fun and I'm sad to be coming home because there are a bunch of shops in town which a bunch of cool things. Especially sweatshirts, which I love so very much. I've also decided that I would collect hats, because I love hats so much. I have to fedora type hats and a bunch of others that are in the collection. Now I just have to find a place to put them...that was really random, here I'm talking about my vacation and then I randomly start rambling on about hats...wow...anyway, as I said I am tired and I'd like to get some reading in before bed. Hope you enjoyed my fears....(that sounded weird, but hey...I am weird)

Vacation

So the iPad doesn't allow blogposts, so I'm having trouble getting some posts in on vacation, but we're here and t was a lot of fun until yesterday...when the clouds decided they would let some rain out...more like a lot of rain. So we've had high winds and loads of rain. There was a firework show though and it was amazingly awesome! The BEST I have ever seen. Note though I've only really seen dinky county fireworks..., but it was amazing! I'm just about to eat my lunch which is leftovers from last nights SO TASTY dinner of pizza. This pizza is probably the best pizza I've ever had. There's definitely been a lot of it. Bacon, pepperoni, black olives. Lots of bacon. Each piece has like TWO POUNDS of bacon on it which is AMAZING!!!!

Fair Highlights

The fair's definitely great when you get to look at all the awesome things that everyone enters. I got a few ribbons, more than I was expecting, which is great! I saw a bunch of great paintings that people entered and a bunch of great photos. I'll most likely post a few tomorrow, or when I get a chance to. I'm leaving on Thursday to go on vacation and the Junior High program is on Monday-Wednesday so I'll be extremely busy then too. Sunday is the quiz picnic and Saturday is a friend's party. Today my older brother is having his annual movie party, which I'll try to explain later.

Where?

Why doesn't anyone have imaginations these days? Where has all the fun gone? When it's hot out like it has been and people complain and you say, "Just imagine it's snowing and freezing!" They always say "THAT DOESN'T WORK!" It does! If you get yourself thinking that it's snowing and you're marveling it then you'll completely forget about the heat. All kids do is watch Spongebob and play video games! Why not go outside and play fun games with your IMAGINATION. You can use your imagination to play that you're a space commander and you have a whole army. Or that you can do anything and create anything. I challenge everyone who reads this to start using YOUR IMAGINATION.

The Fair

The fair was a bunch of fun last night...sort of. We had to walk around the whole fairgrounds which was very...painful. I have not mentioned this, but I fractured my tailbone last Wednesday and it hurts immensely when I walk to much and when I sit down and stand up. The pig scramble was last night's event which is a lot of fun to watch. A bunch of kids running around chasing greased pigs and shoving them into pillowcases is definitely entertaining. It was hilarious to watch too. :p Tonight we're going back to see the results of the exhibits and the Figure Eight Demolition Derby. This is a very entertaining event. Cars spinning in circles and crashing into each other, catching on fire, all the good stuff. That gets you on the edge of your seat every time. Especially when the firemen come out to put out the fires and the drivers clambering out of their cars.

Preparing

Last night and this morning was filled with a lot of preparing for our county fair. Every year in August our county holds a fair and they have open exhibits to enter things into. So I'm entering 5 photos, which I had trouble printing, framing and getting ready last night. Today, I baked a coffee cake, which turned out pretty good, but tasted extremely dry, bland, not tasteful...but my dad loved it, so I figure I have some hope of winning. (Not really...) Whatever, at least....nevermind. I'm also entering a writing composition that my friend and I wrote last year. I wrote and she helped. Here it is below:

This is an Shakespearean adaption of the fable, "The Frog and the Mouse."

Knave!

Frog: (to mouse) Oh mouse! Oh beloved mouse! Come to my home!

Mouse: How silly ye fool, I cannot swim!

Frog: Thou knave! Why hast thou denied the beloved kingship of the pond?

Mouse: Knave? I am no knave! Tie thou twine to thy leg! Take me with thee to thy kingdom!

Frog: Come! Thy twine hath been twined between us! Come now! Now that thou be so foolish, I shall drown thee in my pond!

Mouse: Barbarian! Squeak! Squeak! Thou hath drowned me! Thou hath killed my beloved nature! (eyelids close)

Stork: (flying overhead) Ahk! Thou insolent amphibian! Ye shall pay for thy evil Deed! (dives down)

Frog: Knave! How dare ye?

Stork: How dare ye murder an innocent mouse such as he was? Thou shall die by my skewering beak!!

Frog: I hath died from thou savage beak!

Stork: Thy blood stings my tongue! (eats mouse next) Sweet, beloved mouse, thou blood soothes! Now our feuds are over. I’ll return to my kingdom if the air, whilst thou rule thy kingdom of eternal darkness however thou pleases. (frog eyes slide shut)

So, it was fun to write and if you enter any type of writing into the fair you get $5.50!!!!! HiP HiP HoOrAy! I don't know what was up with the "shift" button, but the hips look cool....;p lol.

Boring Day...

So, mom made me go into the grocery store with her, which was pure torture! I had to walk around in the freezing Martin's and suffer in shivering...we had to walk while I pushed the cart and stop and grab something and go again. And stop and grab something and go again. Over and over again...over and over....we also went to Petco and picked up a dog bone for Maya which is already like...destroyed and a new pad thing to put in her tray of her crate because it was broken.

It's hard to think of titles...

Ended up not getting my Yoyo yesterday. They didn't have them at the stores we looked at. Mom said that she'll take me to look for one today. Last night was good though. We went to Gamestop, where I sold my gameboy advance and a bunch of games. Then, I used the money I got to buy the new Birth By Sleep PSP package. I was really excited! Now I can't wait until September 7th, when it comes out! My best friend is coming over today to spend the night and I'm really excited! She lives an hour away so it's harder for us to get together...so we're really excited to get together tonight! We'll probably play Monopoly, which we always play and of course, I will win. Just kidding, I'm not sure who will win. Normally it's a really really close game between us. I'm definitely excited about a lot of things, but that's okay, I like being excited.

My comment box is still not working right. I looked at all my settings and they're all normal and not preventing anything, but somethings are definitely not working with it. I can still not post on any blogs even my own, and after you guys post it takes a couple hours to show up, but still shows up. I'm working on getting it fixed. Also, I want to see how many people actually read my blog. So if you read this post, please comment on it and say "I read your blog" with how often you read it.

YoYo!

So, today dad came home from work and walked up to me (I was watching tv.) He held out his hand and said, "I have a gift for you." I let him drop it into my hand. It turned out to be a yoyo. I played with yoyo's when I was younger, but I haven't tried it recently so I decided to give it a shot. The yoyo went down but didn't come back up. I was kind of disappointed so I started practicing more. I got the hang of getting it up and down and all that jazz, but I wanted to learn some tricks. So, my mom showed me a few tricks that she did when she was younger. I've been practicing them and mastered a few. My string is already getting worn out after only one night, so tomorrow I plan to go to Toys 'R' Us and buying a few more yoyos. I really want a glow-in-the-dark one and mom said one's with balls in them are cool. I also want a transparent purple. We'll see how it works out and once I start getting better and learn a few tricks I plan on joining a yoyo club.
Also, I'm trying to convince my dad to let me buy a PSP (kingdom hearts birth by sleep pack) and a few Final Fantasy games. Hopefully he'll let me pre-order it! :D

Ironman 2, braces

So my dad ended up taking me to Ironman 2. It's definitely a really awesome movie and very action packed. There were some hilarious parts that I was laughing at and there were some action/fighting parts that were really cool to watch. I love Whiplash, one of the best bad guys by far (his weapons make him awesome) and I love his bird. I rate this movie...8/10 , 4 stars.
I got my braces tightened today and got an extra wire placed on my lower teeth, so now I have three wires in my mouth. I did get stabbed with the wire once and started bleeding. It hurt....the lady wasn't being that delicate. And then she said, "I didn't mean to poke you." Then she yanked the wire out of my gum....YAY! not...I got new colors, which I totally chose at last minute.
After every orthodontist appointment that I go to my mom and I (sometimes Luke) go to the TROPICAL SMOOTHIE CAFE!!!! They have tasty food and my favorite smoothie, CHOCOLATE CHIMP AND BEACH BUM! They are both chocolate flavored. After we went there we went to the library to take back some books we checked out and...get new ones. (One of my favorite parts.)
The weather is extremely nice out today. Cool...78 degrees, breezy, cloudy and blocking the sun so no major heat, although the weather is supposed to get up to around 100 DEGREES!!!!!!!!!!! Quite unfortunate. I'm trying to decide what all I want to do this week, hopefully fun stuff and hoping to go see a few movies in the movie theaters and get together with friends, but mostly I'm just sitting around reading. Typical day for me.
